Senior Choir
The
Senior Choir is a traditional 4-part choir of about 24 adult voices.
With piano or organ accompaniment they perform works of outstanding
contemporary composers, as well as older works from the classical
religious repertoire.
The choir provides anthems and
responses, as well as leadership of congregational singing at the
Traditional Service each Sunday from September to June. Rehearsals are
held weekly during this period. The choir also participates in special
services during the holiday seasons and presents a Christmas or Easter
Cantata annually during a Sunday morning Worship Service.
The
choir provides music at the Perry Point (MD) Veterans' Hospital
Protestant Chapel Service once every other month throughout the year,
and from time to time either hosts or participates in other community
choral activities. Choir members are also active participants in many
church activities.
Attracting new singers, particularly
men and younger adults, is always important and new singers are always
welcome. Membership in Churchville Presbyterian Church is not a
prerequisite.
Marilyn Rudolph is the Choir Director.
