Grades 1 - 6
Research
has shown that we all have "multiple intelligences". that is, we learn
a concept best by experiencing it in several different ways. Our Sunday
School program uses a Workshop Rotation Model which employs this
multi-faceted approach to learning. Children learn a Bible story and
its meaning by rotating to engaging, experiential workshops each week
where they make faith connections to God's Word.
Our curriculum, called "The Potter's Workshop", was
developed by Rev. Dr. J Robert Claus, a Presbyterian minister and
theologian. In this curriculum, a Bible story, its concept and
connection to daily living, are taught through workshops over the
course of 4-6 weeks. As a result, children come to know the Bible and
God through puppets, drama, art, science, storytelling, games, cooking,
computers and videos, to name a few.
We invite you to come experience one of our classes!
We meet at 9:30 AM every Sunday upstairs in the church's Christian
Education Building. To see a sample of "The Potter's Workshop"
