Child Care & Our Nursery Classroom
Teacher: Pam Reed
Our
philosophy of teaching is geared toward nurturing the life-long learner
in all of us. That is why we refer to our Nursery as a "classroom" -
studies have shown that children learn during all stages of growth -
thus establishing a link between nursery, school, and church! Infants
learn from touch, hearing, observation, and taste. Toddlers expand on
this by adding exploration and mimicking behaviors demonstrated by role
models (parents, teachers, care providers, and siblings).
In
our classroom, we use curriculum designed for flexibility among age
groups, and incorporate music, art, and physical exercise to keep the
basic concepts fun and exciting!
A sample schedule during the 11:00 AM worship service might look like this:
- 11:00 AM: Lesson intro, Bible story, Life Application
- 11:25 AM: Craft/Activity based on lesson/music
- 11:45 AM: Snack/music/review
- 12:00 AM: Free play/clean-up
Every Sunday we also provide care and teaching during the 8:40 AM service and during 9:45 AM Sunday School.
We invite you to bring your child to experience one of
our classes! We meet at 9:30 AM every Sunday on the first floor of the church's Christian Education
Building.
